Children’s Eye Exams

The Best for Their Future

Unfortunately, most children are not aware of how they are “supposed to” see – vision problems, such as blurring or double vision, may feel normal to them. Even if your child realizes something is wrong, children cannot often articulate the problem with the same clarity that adults would.

Children depend on their eyesight for about 80% of what they learn. Eye issues can significantly impact how a child understands the world around them. It is very important that they have their eyes examined on a regular basis to prevent problems and ensure their success.

What to Expect During Your Child’s Eye Examination

During your exam we will:

  • Address patient and family medical history, to gain a clear understanding of your child’s health.
  • Test their visual acuity, binocular vision, refraction, and overall eye health. We will look for anything out of the ordinary that could indicate a problem.
  • If needed, discuss and provide the best option for vision correction.
  • Talk about how to best protect your child’s vision, and address any other questions or concerns you may have.

When it comes to your child’s vision and eye health, we understand how important it is to be thorough – however, we also understand that children may be intimidated by these processes.
